Watercolors by Daphne

For many years Key West has been one of my favorite places to escape to in the Winter.  Older than Miami it is rich in history.  You can feel the ghosts of sponge divers, Ernest Hemingway and Mel Fisher.

The flowers and chickens are colorful and the local residents compete.  The street scenes beg to be painted.  Some of these scenes appear in guidebooks, but many are never noticed by the casual visitor.

In assembling this collection of paintings it occurred to me that there are none of Duval Street - not even Sloppy Joe's.

If you have experienced Key West I hope my watercolors will bring back some memories.  If you haven't I hope they will inspire a visit.
